What is Anime Academy?
Anime Academy is a telehealth club for girls aged 13-17 who love anime! Focusing on drawing, sharing techniques, and improving social communication skills in a supportive environment.
What does it look like?
Equipped with paper, pencils, erasers, or iPads, members take turns leading and sharing their screens to showcase their artwork techniques. Each session features a “show and tell” segment where members present their latest anime drawings. Each week is a different theme focusing on anime styles Kawaii, Realistic, Chibi, and Moe or specific aspects like drawing eyes, hairstyles, or clothing details. A knowledgeable speech pathologist is always present to support communication and social interaction, ensuring a fun and inclusive environment for all anime enthusiasts.
Who is it for?
Anime Academy is designed for girls aged 13 – 17 years who have a passion for anime and who would benefit from structured support in developing social communication skills and establishing friendships.
What is the cost?
The program is billed accordance with the NDIS guidelines for Assistance with Social, Economic and Community Participation under Group and Centre Based Activities ($90/ per session). It is claimable through NDIS.
