We are thrilled to introduce our newest endeavor: the Talkshop Sponsorship Program, dedicated to enhancing accessibility to speech pathology services.

What is it?

It is Talkshop’s mission and vision to make speech pathology services accessible to everyone. This is an initiative to provide assessment and therapy to clients who are finding it difficult to access affordable speech pathology services (refer to eligibility criteria below).

Through partnerships with our Clinical Education program, we match speech pathology students with individuals in need, providing discounted services. Our supervised students are trained to make a meaningful impact on the client and their family.

Who is eligible?

  • Holds low-income health care card or external evidence of limited financial resources
  • Currently not funded by the NDIS
  • Age between 4- 10 years old who require support in their speech, language, and social communication skills
  • Currently NOT accessing another speech pathology service
  • Have not attended speech pathology service within the last 12 months
  • Currently on your local community health waitlist
    • If your child is under 5, you need to have your child on the community health waiting list.

Speech Sounds

  • Unclear speech
  • Lisp
  • Sound errors

Social Communication

  • Difficulty with friendships
  • Conversational skills
  • Identifying and expressing emotions
  • Self- advocacy

Receptive Language

  • Difficulty understanding
    instructions, stories
  • Difficulty following instructions

Expressive Language

  • Difficulty structuring sentences
  • Difficulty organising thoughts
  • Jumbled story telling
  • Reduced vocabulary

How do you apply?

Use the application below to apply to the Talkshop Sponsorship program and agree to the terms and conditions.

What happens after I apply?

Your applications will be assessed against the eligibility criteria. Following this you will be contacted to let you know if the eligibility criteria has been met. Your application will be added to the waiting list. You will be contacted if we have been able to place you in a sponsorship program. We expect to be able to give approximately 1 month notice prior to your program starting.

What happens if I am accepted onto a program?

We expect to be able to give approximately 1 month notice prior to your program starting. Once contacted, you will need to accept the place, complete the intake form and pay the family contribution
