Hi, I’m Janie!
I care deeply about helping people feel understood. To me, communication is closely linked to confidence, identity, and feeling connected in everyday life.
I value working in a thoughtful and structured way. I enjoy taking the time to understand each client’s needs and breaking skills into manageable steps. Whether supporting speech, language, literacy, social communication, or functional goals, I focus on building abilities that feel meaningful beyond the therapy room.
I am passionate about working closely with families. I believe parents and caregivers should feel supported, informed, and comfortable asking questions throughout the process. Clear communication, realistic goals, and practical strategies guide how I approach therapy.
I speak English, Mandarin, and Shanghainese. Growing up across languages has shaped how I see communication and belonging. I care about supporting bilingual families in ways that respect their home language and cultural background while meeting their everyday priorities.
I value reflection and evidence-based practice, and I am always learning. My aim is to create a calm and encouraging space where clients feel safe to try, practise, and grow at their own pace.
Outside of the clinic, I enjoy listening to podcasts, spending time with family and friends, and going for walks with my dog.
