Social Hub is a fun, safe and inclusive environment where neurodiverse individuals can hang out, play games, feel comfortable and meet new people. It provides individuals with the opportunity to connect with other young adults, build meaningful relationships, make new friends and express themselves.
What is Social Hub?
- A supportive space to share special interests
- Connect with neurodiverse peers in your own way
- Shame-free, pressure-free and judgment-free
- Develop confidence to connect meaningfully with others
- Develop friendships in a safe and supportive environment
Talkshop currently offers 2 separate Social Hub groups. One for young adults and one for teens.
Young Adult Social Hub:
For young adults (18-30) who want to:
- Connect with new people their age
- Attend a weekly social group with pizza nights, RSL dinners and more
What does it look like?
Our young adult Social Hub runs weekly on the Northern Beaches during the school term from 6:30-8pm on Thursday nights. Each week the group decides whether they would like to go to the pub for dinner (our favourites are the Belrose Hotel, Forestville RSL and the Forest Hotel), or spend the night in, at one of our Northern Beaches clinics, order takeaways and play games. We will often run presentation nights where group members enjoy putting together presentations for the team to share recent holidays, hobbies or special interests.
What is the cost?
The evening is billed in accordance with the NDIS Access Community Social And Rec Activities – Weekday Evening ($144.26/ session). It is claimable through NDIS.
