Social Hub: TEENS
Celebrating individuality & supporting Neurodiversity
We offer a social group for teenagers aged 13-17 years. Social Hub is a place where neurodiverse teenagers can meet up and discuss different topics, play games and practice skills. It is typically run at our Frenchs Forest or Forestville centre, however we love to have the group offsite at local venues. The group can be funded through the teens NDIS funding.
Topics covered include:
- Self-advocacy: what is it, when might you want to use it
- Perspective taking: are your thoughts the same as others in the group?
- Electronic communication: how to stay safe and communicate affectively online
- Special interests: sharing special interests to the group (in the past we have had drawing classes led by a teen, music performances etc.)
- Social problem solving: when things go wrong, what do you do? Who do you go to for help?
- Working as a team: when given tasks, how can you work together with others by using your strengths?
Social Hub: YOUNG ADULTS
