KINDY - YEAR 1 PROGRAM
9am Breakfast Book Club for Kindy & Year 1
We focus on vocabulary that can be used in ‘sizzling’ starts for story writing and explain noisy words that make us hear the sound (onomatopoeias).
We ask about what will happen (inference a predicting skills)
We talk about the characters (imagery) and recap the story (teaching structure of texts)
We reflect on what we’ve understood (language processing & comprehension)

A great live instructional way to learn or revise sight words.
Dive into dynamic teaching with visual and sensory prompts with Jemima
Sight words are not decodable so we teach techniques to assist memory and recall
This is just right for Kindy kids who are starting out on their reading journey and will support Year 1 kids with their spelling accuracy
